DESCRIPTION:May 19\, 2018\nCanoe\, Kayak or Paddleboard \nStart at 10:00 am central time at Dog Creek \nBefore the summer boat traffic hits the Nolin River Lake\, enjoy the serenity of the lake and take a scenic trip by canoe\, kayak\, or paddleboard. We will depart from the Dog Creek boat ramp area and paddle upstream. This trip will be a great trip for families. The trip is about a 5 mile long paddle. Join in the fun! No reservation needed. Bring your own canoe\, kayak or paddleboard. \nLife jackets are required for this paddle! \n10:00am (CST) – Meet at Dog Creek Boat Ramp\, by the fee shack in the parking lot for safety talk and inspections.\n10:15am – Put canoes/kayaks in the water along with water and paddle safety tips\nExpected return time around 12:30pm – 1:30pm (CST) – Return to the boat ramp and take out the canoes and kayaks \nThe Dog Creek recreation shelter is available for your use before or after the paddle.

DESCRIPTION:Due to storm damage\, this event\, originally scheduled for April 7\, 2018\, has been rescheduled for May 5\, 2018. \nThe Friends of Nolin Lake and Nolin Lake State Park are pleased to announce that the annual wildflower walk on the Brier Creek Trail System will take place once again in spring of 2018! Make plans to join us for a fun morning of identifying spring wildflowers on our park’s scenic trails. This event is sponsored by the Friends of Nolin Lake and is free to the public! \nThe hike starts at 10 a.m. (CST) and will depart from Brier Creek Trailhead in Nolin Lake State Park. Please dress for the weather. Sturdy\, comfortable footwear is strongly suggested. \nThis hike is not recommended for children under the age of 5. Hikes will be canceled in the event of heavy rain or hazardous weather/driving conditions.
